Finding the perfect wedding gown is one of the most important things a bride-to-be must do before her big day.

Whether it's a simple dress, something unique or a fairytale princess dress, you're sure to find it at Brides of Distinction in Albion Park Rail.

The bridal boutique, which opened in September last year, offers bridal wear, outfits for the entire wedding party and a wide range of accessories.

Owner of the business, Elaine Jackson says the store is virtually your one stop bridal shop.

"We have everything you need to complement your gown from tiaras and veils to jewellery, lingerie and shoes."

"People appreciate that they can come to the one place in the local area and get what they need rather than having to travel to Sydney."

Brides of Distinction stock imported and Australian made dresses that are all created using top quality fabrics and fine finishings.

If you have a specific style of gown in mind and can't find it on the racks, the store also offers a made-to measure service.

Ms Jackson, who has been making bridal gowns from her home studio for over 20 years and also worked as a designer for some of the wholesalers in Sydney, will work with you to create the dress of your dreams.

Wedding gown alterations are available on the premises at Brides of Distinction to ensure you get that perfect fit.

The store caters for brides of all sizes and carries dresses and lingerie up to size 32 and larger.

Ms Jackson says due to the Illawarra's gorgeous beach locations, she has a lot of requests for simple but elegant gowns for beach weddings.

"Lace has also come back into fashion and we now have quite a few bridal gowns in stock that are made with high quality lace," she said.

Brides of Distinction carry dresses for formals, bridesmaids, flowergirls, mother-of-the-bride and also work with another company to provide men's suit hire.

"Due to our large range of products we can offer packages so a bride can get her entire ensemble at a discounted price," Ms Jackson said.

It is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, Saturday 9am to 3pm and by appointment outside of these hours.
